Although I had finally made a decision on the topic I intend to take forward into next semester, I still felt that I should readdress how I could use the hand to act as a signifier in an illustrative composition. I acted on the advice that Richard had given me about making the hand stand out in some way from the rest of the image. I have created a number of samples, which I feel address this issue better, which now allows me to assess which method might be best if I choose to use the hand in an illustrative composition for my topic next semester.
